We have a great Bike Hire outlet 10 minutes walk from us and they provide maps too. Highly recommend the circular cycle (or walk) of what locals call the Dinis circuit. A fabulous 15km circle from Killarney Glamping taking in Muckross Abbey, Muckross House, Dinis Cottage, The Meeting of the Waters and Torc Waterfall (not to mention nice tea stops at Muckross House and Dinis Cottage).
Of course Killarney is home to Ireland's highest mountain but often undervalued is a trip up Torc Mountain especially if time is tight. Normally just below the cloud line the summit of this very do-able mountain offers panoramic views of Killarney's National Park and Town. A step up (literally) is Mangerton Mountain which has a gorgeous lake near it's peak affectionately known as the Devils Punchbowl.
